I'm of the unpopular opinion that chess is not something one should learn or would learn much from. It takes a lot of effort and practice.

Being a former chess player myself, I gave up on the game. Instead, I'd rather recommend picking up GO, but really books and classes on strategy, creativity, and management will get you much further in life.

Furthermore, chess has so many strategies that creativity is not something that you will get out of this game (at all). Especially when playing with experts.

But as I said, many disagree with my thinking. If you enjoy chess, however, then I'd say go for it and enjoy the game.
